A long time coming

Bronwen Thomas Bronwen Thomas (born Glenister) of Croydon South, Victoria, Australia writes:

Finally, after 23 years'  work, my book and CD A long time coming: A Glenister family history is ready for publication.

The book will be A4 size with approx 640 pages of Glenister family history and 180 pages of detailed index. Because of the expense of printing colour photos, not all are in colour, however, the quality of black/white is very good. All colour photos that I have used appear in colour on the CD.

As well as individuals’ details the book and CD also include:

- early documents,

- the diary of my great grandmother Martha Amelia Glenister (born Catterson) (transcript and original handsewn, handwritten pages),

- the memoirs of Amy Morwick (granddaughter of John Putnam Glenister),

and many other biographical stories and war service records.

What it covers

Main family lines covered are:

  • 2548 - the main family line in Australia
  • 0448 - second largest family in Australia
  • 0255

Pictured right - John Putnam Glenister (1792-1867) and his wife Jane Blackhall (1790-1870) - who left England in 1853 and founded the main branch of the Glenister Australian family.
