Welcome to the Glenister Gathering 2008 website. Here you will find all the latest information on the gathering and how to register.

Registration is needed by the end of December 2007.

The venue requires approximate numbers at the beginning of the new year. Please register as soon as possible if you are certain you are able to attend.

Note: Deposit required with registration, full payment by the end of this year.

If you want to come but need to wait for certainty, please let me know. Last minute adjustments can be made but please don't make it difficult for the organisation of the event. Definite numbers are needed for the costing of the event - meals, tours, everything!

There are 40 rooms available at our Glenister Gathering venue, York on Lilydale, which is approximately 45 minutes from Melbourne, on a first in first served basis. These rooms will only be held until the beginning of January so you must book soon. A discounted rate is available but you MUST also mention that you are attending the Glenister Gathering.

As we are within close proximity to the Yarra Valley wine region there are a number of alternative accommodation options available within a short distance of the venue. For alternatives please visit www.visityarravalley.com.au.

We will be offering a Sunday lunch tour as part of the gathering with two options:

• Yarra Valley Winery Tour

Visit three wineries with an antipasto platter, tea/coffee for lunch

• Healesville Sanctuary

Family friendly two hour visit to see Australian wildlife with antipasto platter, tea/coffee for lunch. Also has a souvenir shop and kiosk.

Full group and small family photos will be taken on Saturday. Photo sales and orders will be taken after lunch on the Sunday. The smaller 8 x 10 photos will be ready for purchase on the day. Orders for the full group photos will be taken and posted when completed.

Photos currently cost approximately $15 - $20 however this is subject to change. The photographer will accept cash, cheques, major credit cards and Eftpos.

The following items will be available for sale at the gathering:

• The second edition CD of "A Long Time Coming: A Glenister Family History" will be available for sale.
• Special package: Copy of the 2004 book and new CD will also be available.
• 2003 Gathering Video

Orders will also be taken for the 2008 video & group photograph. The plan is to include all family lines represented at the Glenister Gathering 2008 so please send your family information and updates to Bronwen as soon as possible.

A logo for the gathering is in the design process. This logo will be available for polo tops via email which can then be printed onto an iron-on transfer. Just let us know if you would like to use it and we will forward instructions.

There has been a protest among Aussie males on wearing gold! White would make a great alternative!
